Canyon launch the new Roadlite:ON 'fitness bike'
The GrandCanyon:ON features a 504 wh battery capacity, and you get Shimano's tried and tested STEPS E8000 motor system with 250 watts of power and 70Nm of torque. This gives you an average range of around 100km according to Canyon, making it ideal for big days out on the trails or just plain old commuting.
Up front you get a plush 120mm of travel, with the Fox 34 Rhythm appearing on the top-of-the-range 9.0 and the dependable RockShox Judy Silver on the other two. The geometry of the 6061 aluminium frame is described as 'progressive trail geometry', which Canyon say "has everything you need to feel fast and confident on rowdy singletrack."
The components are also modified depending on the bike size; on an XS Canyon fit a 100mm fork and 27.5" wheels, while the medium through to XL sizes are fitted with 29" wheels.
At the rear there's a neat kickstand mount feature courtesy of Pletscher, with a removable cover that can be left on if you don't require a kickstand or taken off to fit one if you're regularly needing to prop your bike up.
Other stand-out components include Schwalbe Nobby Nick 2.6" tyres front and rear, Shimano MT420 (front) and MT 400 (rear) brakes with 203mm rotors and Canyon's ON Riserbar made specifically for e-mountain bikes.
The GrandCanyon:ON comes in three different flavours: the AL 9.0 at £3,049, the AL 8.0 at £2,599 and the WMN AL 8.0 also priced at £2,599. Head over to Canyon's website for more info and buying options.
