SEAT has launched its first electric moped, the 9kW SEAT MO eScooter 125. As the name implies, the vehicle is equivalent to a 125cc motorcycle and will therefore require an A1 motorbike licence to ride.
“SEAT MÓ is our answer to the demands of modern urban mobility,” explained Richard Harrison, Managing Director of SEAT UK. “With the UK Government’s 2030 deadline to consider, a two-wheeled electric vehicle is the perfect way to evolve the SEAT offering and move away from the conventional. This is a definitive next step on our electrification journey.”

Priced at £4,996 with the government’s OLEV EV grant included, or £95 per month for 48 months on hire purchase, the SEAT MO 125 features a removable 5.6kWh battery and a 9kW rear hub motor capable of producing up to 240Nm of torque.
The battery may be removable, but at 40kg, it is also large. It therefore comes with an extendable handle and castors so that the rider can more easily move it around.
The SEAT MO 125 has a top speed of 59mph and a range of 85 miles with a 6–8-hour charge time.

You’ll get regenerative braking, a central stand, a side stand and an under-seat compartment big enough for a couple of helmets. There’s also an LCD display and the obligatory app which will give you data on a whole bunch of stuff.
The bike’s available in three colours: Dark Aluminium, Oxygen White and – our favourite – Daring Red.
