Ridiculous statement from Sustainable Us.  Manufactured correctly a LI battery offers zero risk to the public.  They are more stable than petrol tanks in cars and no-one gets as hysterical about them.

Lithium Ion battery cells should be treated like miniature incendary bombs.
Outside the protection of the battery pack they have no BMS or other protection.

I understand their POV, but maybe we should wait until safer cells are developed before we go down this route.
Again, I ask why aren't LFP batteries being used as an alternative?
I know one cargo bike manufacturer uses them.
