Austrian folding bike makers Vello are renowned for their super light frames and innovative folding mechanisms... and a new special edition titanium e-bike might just be the most impressive of the lot, weighing in at just 10.9kg.
The weight of the Vello Titan gets cut right down thanks to an unpainted titanium frame, carbon belt drive an all-in-one motor and battery system courtesy of Zehus. the rear-wheel Zehus Bike+ system keeps the battery charged up at all times thanks to regenerative braking, converting mechanical energy into electrical energy thanks to the integrated kinetic energy recovery system commonly used in motorsports.
It's described as 'the lightest and most compact electric folding bike in its class'; although Hummingbird might have something to say about that, as their folding e-bike we recently reviewed has the same claimed weight.
Other nifty features include a fully folding handlebar for even more compactness, a control unit that gives you access to six different electronic assist modes and aluminium folding pedals.
We're not too sure on pricing for this new version as it hasn't appeared on the Vello website yet, but the painted Vello Titanium e-bike is priced at €3,990 without optional extras. Check them out here.
